In משלי ד:יז we read: כי לחמו לחם רשע ויין חמסים ישתו

Again in משלי ט:ה we read: לכו לחמו בלחמי ושתו ביין מסכתי

HALOT has several other instances where לחמ is used as a verb meaning to eat (bread).

Note also the the root of מלחמה is לחמ
