(Aramaic)

מלכי means to take counsel or advice.  Although it occurs in the Bible on here in this context, the word is used often in both Hebrew and Aramaic Rabbinic literature.

The word appears in a similar context in Hebrew in Nehemiah 5:7:

Note also from Harold Robert (Chaim) Cohen’s PhD Dissertation, Biblical Hapax Legomena in the Light of Akkadian and Ugaritic (also published as book), in his footnote to the list of Homonymic Hapax Legomena (p. 167):

86. See BDB, 576; J. M. Myers, Ezra, Nehemiah (New York, 1965),
128. For references to malaku see AHw, 593-94. Note especially
Gilg. XI: 167-68: Enlil a illika ana surginni assu la
intalkuna iskunu abubu “Enlil must not come to the offering
because he did not reflect and (thoughtlessly) brought about
the flood.” Note also the many parallels to this passage in
Atrahasis and related texts. See Lambert and Millard,
Atra-hasis, 188 (passages cited under malaku). For other
Semitic cognates, see KB I, 530. Note especially biblical
Aramaic מלכי “may advice, counsel” in Dan. 4:24.
